Key Learnings and Design Process
In the fifth project, we set off to design goggles that would allow for a custom fit for each user. To do this I began designing two components, one being the base component that would be left in labs and offer a moderate amount of protection to all users and the other being a custom component that the user would attach to the base component that is fit to their face and offers chemical protection for the eyes. To do this, a full face scan was necessary to create the custom component and the goggles were built around the scan of my head. Check out some of the process pics below.
- 3D face scan
- Ideation and design around face scan
- Solidworks using scanned 3D images
- Customizable design work
- Cross functional design focusing on aesthetics and function
